June/July 2015 Sculpture Sessions

Sculpting the Human Form

Wednesday, June 17 / 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm: female model will pose

Wednesday, June 24 / 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm: male model will pose

Wednesday, July 1 / 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm: male model will pose

Models will be in a standing, seated, or reclining pose (TBD) which will give participants a chance to do a torso (no head, arms, or legs), a bas-relief wall hanging sculpture, or quick practice clay sketch.  Participants can combine their sculpture of the models into just one or more sculptures or keep each sculpture of the models as separate sculptures.  To advance skills in rendering human anatomy nude models are used for all figurative sculpture sessions.  The fee for each individual session is $35 or $85 to sign up for all three sessions (payment is due at the session and can be by cash or check/money order made out to James Fatata, sorry no credit cards).   The fee covers the use of sculpting stand, model fee, studio facility, and bisque firing of the finished sculpture.  Water-base clay will be available for purchase for $15 per twenty-five pounds bag.  The workshop is limited to eight participants and will be held at Litmus Gallery & Studios at 312 W. Cabarrus Street in downtown Raleigh.  Those wishing to attend must reserve a space in advance.  Notification will be sent to those requesting a space as to whether there is a space for them or if they are on the wait list.  Refunds will not be given for missed sessions.  Additional questions or to register for the workshop: [email protected]
